Whilst our female members are fully integrated into our GB1, GB2, and GB3 programmes, we’re equally committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment for women across all of our academies.
Our goal is to provide opportunities for women to train together, build confidence, develop self-defence skills, and connect with like-minded people in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, learn something new, challenge yourself, or simply become part of a supportive community, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers benefits both on and off the mats.
No previous experience or fitness level is needed to get started - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone. Whether you’re 16, 60, or anywhere in between, there’s a place for you on the mats. We offer a range of women’s classes, programmes, and open mat sessions, while also giving female members full access to our wider adult timetable so they can train as often and as broadly as they choose.

THE 8 WEEK WOMEN’S GBF PROGRAMME
We run our GBF programmes twice a year across both of our academies, offering an 8-week beginner-friendly introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a supportive women-only environment. The course is designed to help women build confidence, improve fitness, learn practical self-defence, and enjoy training alongside other beginners in a welcoming space.
Whether you’re completely new or looking for a fresh challenge, GBF provides a comfortable and structured introduction with guidance from experienced coaches and support from a growing community of female members.
After completing the course, we encourage members to continue their journey with our Gracie Barra GB1 programme, supported by female coaches and teammates as they progress.

WOMEN’S BJJ CLASSES
We currently run a women’s-only class every Thursday evening at Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge. Led by Professor Khalil and Coach Hollie, these weekly sessions provide a dedicated space for female members to train together in a supportive, focused environment alongside our regular timetable.
Open to members from all of our academies, these classes are a great opportunity to build confidence, improve technique, and connect with other women on the mats. Whether you’re new to training or more experienced, you’re very welcome to come along and take part.
