With Christmas fast approaching, we thought now would be a great time to round up the latest news and events across all of our academies! From Christmas parties through to upcoming seminars, there’s plenty happening across Harrogate, Apperley Bridge and York over the coming weeks!

Victor Estima Winter Seminar: Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge, 12th December

We’re so excited to be welcoming Professor Victor back to Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge on the 12th of December. We’ll be running 2 seminars so everyone can get involved:

Come along and celebrate a fantastic year where we’ve seen all of our communities grow, as well as the launch of Gracie Barra York! It’s a fantastic opportunity for members of all of our academies to meet and train together, and we can’t wait to see you all there.

Christmas Parties

We’re celebrating the festive period with Christmas parties for all of our students!

GB York will be kicking off the festivities on Saturday the 6th of December at Old Grey Mare at 5pm. Simply book on via GymDesk to secure your spot!

The GB Apperley Bridge Christmas party will take place after the Victor Estima Seminar on the 12th of December.

Christmas Closure

We’ll be closing the doors for Christmas break from the 20th of December until the 3rd of January. There will be intermittent open mats whilst we’re closed, so keep an eye on our Whatsapp groups for opening times and coming and get your post-Christmas rounds in! We’ll be reopening all of our academies for classes on Saturday the 3rd of January.

Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge 8 Week Beginnners Course

Know someone interested in trying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the Leeds / Bradford area? We’re excited to launch our 8-Week Beginners Programme every Monday and Wednesday at 18:30 at Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge, starting 12th January 2026.

This programme is designed for adults who are completely new to BJJ - no experience or fitness level required. It’s the perfect way to get started in a friendly, supportive environment!

Special introductory price: £199 (saving £169 on the full price). Participants will receive a gi to train in for the 8 weeks, and it’ll be theirs to keep at the end if they start an adult membership!

NEW GBK Classes at Gracie Barra Harrogate

Exciting news to start the new year off! We have another Little Champs class coming to the current program. This class will run on a Friday afternoon at 4:30pm starting on the 9th of January.

This also means that the current classes will push back by 30mins to accommodate the time change. Class times are as follows:

FRIDAYS

LITTLE CHAMPS 1 - 4:30PM
ADVANCED KIDS GI - 5:30PM
GB2 - NO GI - 6:30PM
ADULTS OPEN MAT - 7:30PM

If you are interested in moving to the Friday little champs 1, or would like to pick up an extra class for the little champs 1, please email us and lets us know as spaces are limited.
